Associate

About the position

Miller Buckfire hires a small number of top caliber associates each year. We typically require candidates to interview with several of our managing directors, directors and vice presidents before they can be considered for a full-time position. We view our associates as potential future leaders of the firm and key contributors to our success.

At Miller Buckfire, one of our primary objectives is to provide senior level attention to clients, which affords associates the opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, senior bankers. Our small deal teams also allow associates to assume significant responsibility on transactions and receive extensive exposure to clients. Given the size of our firm and the range of our services, associates have the opportunity to work on projects and transactions in a wide range of industries.

Candidates should possess outstanding academic records and have demonstrated strong leadership ability through involvement in extracurricular endeavors such as student government, athletics and cultural and entrepreneurial activities.

To be successful at Miller Buckfire, associate candidates should have finance-related work experience and strong quantitative and analytical skills.  The typical associate has a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in corporate finance, preferably with transaction experience in investment banking.  In addition to strong exposure to finance and accounting, qualified candidates must have experience with financial modeling and analysis.  Additionally, candidates must have excellent writing and communication skills and possess the ability to work well in teams.
