Miller Buckfire Lewis and Co. of New York City will donate $500,000 to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in support of the institute's research and education mission. Henry Miller, chairman and managing director of the financial advisory firm, was to present the check Wednesday morning to Jon M. Huntsman, HCI chairman.
Miller Buckfire Lewis and Co. is one of the world's leading investment banks specializing in corporate restructuring transactions, with experience in nearly every industry.
HCI has been designated a National Cancer Institute center. Located at the University of Utah, it houses one of the largest genetic databases in the world, with more than 3 million participants. That helps both medical researchers and basic scientists to improve cancer treatment and prevent and control the disease.
