A record fifty-six awards were presented by Ms. Allison Payne, anchor and reporter from WGN-TV Mid-day News at the annual TURNAROUND ATLAS AWARDS held the previous evening. Gold standard of performance, the annual awards exclusively recognizes excellence in assignments and deals completed from the restructuring, reorganization and turnaround communities, world-wide.
 
Mr. Gene Saffold, chief financial officer, City of Chicago, from the Mayor's Office delivered welcome remarks to an influential group of leaders and senior executives from the corporate, distressed investors, reorganization and turnaround communities; and congratulating them for their achievements.
 
Awards categories were expanded to reflect diversities in size, sector and geographical reach. New categories were added such as Pre-packaged Chapter 11 Reorganization; Cross-border Special Situation M&A; and Corporate Turnaround of the Year, to capture evolving industry trends. Winners are selected based on "performance" criteria; and must attend the gala ceremony to be recognized in the company of their clients, colleagues and peers from the industry.
