David A. Shiffman is a Managing Director of Miller Buckfire.  Mr. Shiffman has more than 15 years of experience covering retail, consumer and business services companies.  David joined Miller Buckfire in April 2009.  Prior to joining the firm, he spent 11 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he was a Partner and Head of Retail responsible for establishing the group’s strategic direction and client initiatives.  David’s responsibilities included relationship management, client development, new business solicitation and transaction execution.  Selected clients include Asbury Automotive Group, Inc., Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., Dollar Tree, Inc., J. Crew Group, Inc., Liz Claiborne, Inc., L.L. Bean, Inc., Lumber Liquidators Inc., Saks Incorporated, Staples, Inc., The Estee Lauder Companies Inc., The Home Depot, Inc., The Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack, The TJX Companies, Inc. and Under Armour, Inc.
 
Prior to joining Goldman, Sachs & Co., David worked as an associate covering retail companies in Investment Banking at Salomon Brothers.  David earned a BA in Biological Basis of behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Columbia.
